Ladies and Gentlemen,
Every now and then you say or do something that comes back to bite you on the arse, such was my comment last month that everything was going smoothly.......two weeks later its wet, snowy, icy frozen, you name it, and we only have a handful of games played, and, as I look out of the window of Hyde Hall, it is absolutely bouncing down. The lady on the radio this morning says that this might continue for the rest of today and part of tomorrow. That'll teach me to be a smart arse!!
So here we are at the end of 2017 which, on the whole, has been a good year for the league, lots of new clubs joined us, more of you improved your facilities making it a pleasure to visit all the grounds, and I'm sure play on them.
There has been one or two hiccups along the way, mainly to do with Full Time or the Whole Game System but we seem to be sorting these out as we go along.
One problem seems to have been sending in the results.......I look on Twitter and see results, scorers, comments etc within minutes of the game ending but then see a gap on Full Time...... Why, if you can put it on social media why not Full Time, maybe put it there first THEN on Twitter? Just a thought.
Another thing whilst we are on the subject, unless it is a County Cup competition, it is ONLY THE HOME TEAM that has to enter the result.
We have the option to issue fines for late results, and whilst we don't like it, we may have to, you have got up until 6.30pm to enter the result so please make sure you do.
We are still sorting out the finer details of the 125th Anniversary dinner, which I hope to be able to give you at the clubs meeting in January, but I can confirm that the subsidised cost will be £35 per head and we will expect each club to take 2 tickets, which will be distributed at the January meeting so please bring cash or your bank details with you WE WONT ACCEPT CHEQUES!!
It is our intention to present ALL the divisional trophies at the dinner, which, just to remind you, is on 11th May 2018 at the Worsley Marriott.
From all the members of the Management Committee can I wish you all a very Happy Christmas and New Year.
John Hyde, President.
