The fixture between Old Alts and Stockport Georgians on Saturday 21st October would usually take place at Crossford Bridge, the home of Old Alts, but this weekend sees a new venue added to the history of the Manchester Football League.
Both teams will go head to head on the immaculate turf at Mottram Hall Hotel (MHH) in a change of venues after an invitation was received by the league committee.
The league were approached with a request if it was possible for a selected trio of South Korean match officials could take charge of one of our Premier Division matches and for the game to be played at MHH, a request which the league couldn't decline.
The German National Team stayed and trained there whilst over in England for the European Championships in 1996 so if it was good enough for them, then it's definitely good enough for us.
Old Alts will hope the change of venue brings a change of fortune to their season as the 'hosts' look for their first win. Alts have picked up just three points so far and will be hoping to double the tally with a win over Stockport Georgians who have found themselves in a bit of form of late.
Georgians have started the campaign in less than glamorous fashion having picked up just one point from their first five games but after picking up wins in their last two outings, the Stockport side will be feeling more confident of getting a result and making it three on the trot.
The South Korean match officials will take charge of the game which will be a first in Manchester League history. It will also be the first time a league fixture will be played at MHH.
We encourage all supporters of both clubs and all the many ground hoppers to bear this game in mind for their choice for the day in what will be an historic event in the Manchester League.
