Referee Appointment Secretary Vacancy

The Manchester Football League Ltd, is seeking to appoint a volunteer to fill the role of Referee Appointments Secretary for season 22/23.

The role will initially shadow the current referee’s secretary for the remainder for the 21/22 season.

This is an exciting role to be part of the league’s management committee, which is recognised as the senior county league within Manchester Football Association and its catchment area. With 5 divisions the Referee’s Appointment Secretary would be expected to make approximately 50 appointments each week across all divisions.

Referee Appointment Secretary Job Description:

Key Task:
- Appointment of referees to all divisions, and Assistant Referees to the premier division and make relevant replacements due to unforeseen circumstances, ensuring 100% coverage is met.
- Communicate professionally and efficiently with referees and clubs as necessary and building positive relationships with both.
- Provide reports to the League Management Committee during meetings and when required.
- Provide progression opportunities for match officials
- Recruitment and Development of referees in cooperation with Manchester FA.
- Working collaboratively with the county FAs and other relevant football organisations as required concerning all refereeing matters, specifically Manchester FA Referee Development Officer(Promotion, Marks, Development etc)

Key Skills:
- Ensure appointments are made with consideration to the requirements of the referees, clubs and league structures
- Computer literate to include use of the fulltime website and the FA’s Whole Game System (WGS)
- Good organisational, communication and time management skills
- Excellent interpersonal skills.
- A clear and comprehensive knowledge of the Referee promotion structure.

All candidates must have an in-date DBS with county FA. An annual honorarium will be paid at the end of each playing season to cover your expenses.
