We take a look at the results from across the Manchester Football League as the teams in Division One begin their campaign.

Premier Division
Rochdale Sacred Heart have continued their perfect start to the season after they picked up their third win and third clean sheet at Crossford Bridge. Matt Landregan’s performance in front of goal proved crucial as the RSH man scored four goals in his side’s 5-0 win against Old Alts. James Hebb scored the other goal of the afternoon to seal the three points.

After losing their first game, Bolton County have bounced back with two consecutive wins with the latest coming at home to Manchester Gregorians. Tom Axon-Smith played a huge part in County’s 5-0 win as the striker opened his goal scoring account with a hat-trick at Radcliffe Road. Carl Airey and Robbie Kennedy also scored to put their side up to second.

Hindsford are up to third place after they made it two wins from two following a trip to Chadderton Reserves. In an excellent game which saw seven goals scored, Chaddy failed to capitalise and ended up losing despite holding a 3-2 lead with 10 minutes to go, eventually going down 4-3. Zenon Caine, Kyle McGovern and Matt Wilkinson all scored for the hosts but goals from Jack Valentine (2), Alex Honeyball and Ben Meredith secured the three points for the Tonics.

Beechfield United picked up their first win of the campaign in impressive fashion, winning 4-0 at home to Royton Town. After picking up a point in their first game, United move up to sixth with this win and leave Town without a point from their opening three matches.

There were stalemates at Woodhams Park and Crompton House where it ended 0-0 in both games. Dukinfield Town were held by Springhead whilst Heyside and Pennington also drew a blank in their match-up.

Division One
The division finally kicked off on Saturday and it is Wilmslow Albion who sit top after day one. Albion registered a 4-0 win at home to Tintwistle Athletic with the goals coming from Kieran Casey (2), Kyle Hill and Ibrahima Thiam at Oakwood Farm.

The highest scorers of the day were Elton Vale and sit second following their 5-2 win at home to Altrincham Hale. Lewis Chortiw scored a hat-trick and was joined on the score sheet by Jack Lawder and Kelvin Trippier.

Winning away from home were Uppermill who enjoyed a 4-1 win at Moorside Rangers. Ashley Ainsworth’s hat-trick helped the visitors to the three points with Steven Slack getting the other at Agecroft Farm. Ruben Rose scored the consolation for Rangers in their opening day defeat

Ben Oldroyd, Mason Sutherland and Ben Crowther all scored for Boothstown as they enjoyed their afternoon at Butler Park. The visitors clinched the three points in a 3-0 win and finish the day in fifth place.

Bolton Lads and Girls also registered a 3-0 win on the road as they travelled to Wright Robinson to face East Manchester. Alex Buchannan, Keane Mills and Habtamu Ayele all scored to give their side a winning start to the season.

Division Two
Just three teams now boast a 100% record after three games.

AFC Monton currently lead the way following a thumping 8-1 win at home to Leigh Genesis. Max White (2), Dan McLoughlin (2), Jacob Ngoy, Darious Photiou, Malachi Slaven and Josh Wilson all scored for the home side at New Alder Park with Jack Clare getting Leigh’s consolation.

Just behind them are Bolton United who also enjoyed an 8-1 win when they met Breightmet United at Moss Park. Nadir Patel continued his good form in front of goal with another four goals and Amin Munshi (2), Ashley Carter and Shabir Ali completed the scoring for the visitors while Babalola Chidiamen netted for Breightmet.

Hollinwood complete the trio who have made a perfect start after their 4-2 win at home to Hindley Juniors. Anthony Hart and Michael Morris both scored for the visitors but goals from Hayden Wardle (2), Nathan Bourne and James Curley made sure the points stayed at home.

Manchester Central got their first points of the season with a 3-1 win against MFL debutants Cavaliers. Gabriel Wiwoloku (2) and Rory Robertson both scored for Central to deny the hosts a happy start to the campaign although Dayrin Sanchez will take some positive from the game with his consolation.

It was a seven-goal thriller at Heywood Sports Village where Avenue picked up their second victory of the season as they played host to Bolton Borough. Carlton Norford scored twice in the 4-3 win for Avenue with Tyler Smith and Sam Gibson getting the others while AAAA scored for Bolton.

Daisy Hill Development picked up their first point of the season with a 1-1 draw at newcomers AFC Burnley. Curtis Sykes scored on his first team debut for the Burnley side and the point puts his side up to sixth and lifts Daisy up from the bottom teams yet to get off the mark.
