Hindsford’s 100% start to the season continued on Saturday as the league leaders comfortably saw off the challenge of Beechfield United. Alex Honeyball scored four times in the 6-0 win to take his season tally to thirteen. Dominic Butler and Brad Brown scored the other two goals at Squires Lane to inflict a third defeat on Beechy.
Bolton County are now up to second place and are three points off the top following their 5-3 win over Heywood St James. A hat-trick from Tom Axon-Smith helped the home side to the victory with Carl Airey netting a brace. Aaron Nuttall scored twice for the visitors and Elliot Collinson got the other for Jimmies who remain in ninth.
Dukinfield Town edged out Pennington at Woodhams Park where the home side ran out 2-1 winners. After a goalless first half, both teams scored a penalty of which were converted as Mark Pearson got Town’s opener with Bradley Aspinall levelling things up. However, Benjamin Fox’s header sealed the win for the hosts to claim the three points.
Jay Smyth and Jordan Jones-Waite both scored in the 2-0 win for Springhead as they travelled to Crossford Bridge to take on Old Alts. It was the visitors’ first league win for a month and their first on the road for six weeks.
William Parry scored twice for Stockport Georgians in their 3-1 win at home to ten-man Chadderton Reserves. The win was their third on the bounce at home and sees them move up to fifth spot. Zenon Caine scored Chaddy’s consolation who fall to a second-straight defeat.
Heyside picked up their first point in two months as they drew 2-2 at home to Manchester Gregorians. However, the hosts will feel disappointed after throwing a 2-0 lead away as a spirited Gregs fought back with two goals in the second half. Clinton Okuonghe and Emmanuel Yoak scored for Heyside and Sam Boylan got both for the visitors.
Walshaw Sports secured their first win of the season when they travelled to bottom side Royton Town. Jamie Hart scored twice for the visitors in the 5-2 win with Lewis Benson, Lee Gaskell and Regan Jarrett getting the others for the Bury outfit. Jack Cooper and Craig Schumann both scored for Town who are now four points adrift at the foot of the table.
Boothstown moved level with league leaders Bolton Lads and Girls following their impressive 4-1 win over East Manchester. Tom Perkins was the star of the show as his hat-trick helped the visitors to the victory with Ben Oldroyd scoring the other. Tom Beswick netted for East who slip to eighth place.
Altrincham Hale came out on top in a nine-goal thriller as they entertained Tintwistle Athletic. Jack Yates scored an impressive four goals for the hosts who ran out 5-4 winners with Lewis Morgan getting the other goal for Hale. Joe Elliott scored twice for Tinny with James Crossland and Liam Gregory also scoring.
After winning their first game last week, Atherton Town made it back-to-back wins with a 3-0 victory at Elton Vale. Tom Armstrong, Gareth Shaw and Jack Valentine were all on target for Town as the hosts fell to a third-straight defeat.
Govan Athletic were denied a chance to move into the top three as Moorside Rangers held them to a draw at Agecroft Farm. Ruben Rose netted twice for Rangers in the 3-3 draw with Mike Gill scoring the other for the hosts. Alexander Ozounoglou and Daniel Browne scored for Govan who stay in fourth.
It also finished 3-3 at Churchill PF where Uppermill hosted Wilmslow Albion. Leighton Stephenson, Jake Richardson and Ashley Ainsworth all scored for the home side who get their first draw of the season. The point gained for bottom team Wilmslow puts them to within one point of safety.
Bolton Borough failed to close the gap on league leaders Bolton United as they went down 5-1 at Daisy Hill Development. The win was Hill’s second of the season thanks to goals from Jordyn Fitton, Marshall Mills, Conor Hughes, Jordan Lomax and Taigh Wilson. Nil Grau scored Bolton’s consolation who remain in second place.
In only their second away game of the season, AFC Monton picked up three points with a 2-1 win at Leigh Genesis. Adam Leach and Daniel McLoughlin both scored for the visitors at Leigh Sports Village with Tom Simms getting Leigh’s reply.
Oldham Community picked up their first win of the season as they welcomed fellow strugglers Cavaliers to Ten Acres Lane. The home side ran out 9-3 winners which sees them move out of the bottom two. There were hat-tricks apiece for Milton Maxime and Justino Nogueira for Oldham with Joel Garcia, Michael Afriyie and Muhammed Atar scoring the others. Ruben Toyne (2) and Edwin Geronimo got the consolations for Cavaliers.
Avro Reserves got back to winning ways when they welcomed Breightmet United to the Vestacare Stadium. They did so in emphatic fashion as they ran out 12-0 winners with Callum Jackson (3), Ibere Barumire (3), Sam Kellett, Rigobert Madzura, Liam McNally, Kevin Zokou, Mason Dunkley and Christian Edokpayi getting the goals.
Nine goals were scored at Heywood Sports Village where Avenue welcomed Manchester Central and it was the visitors who would be the happier of the two teams as they secured a 5-4 victory. Carlton Norford scored a hat-trick in vain with Sam Gibson scoring the other for the hosts but Central’s Ruben Lawal (2), Fuhud Kasali, Daniel Dolling and Gabriel Wiwoloku all scored to give them the three points.
Nathan Bourne scored a hat-trick to help his Hollinwood side to a 6-2 win over Astley and Tyldesley. Alex Brown (2) and Georgi Terry completed the scoring for the visitors while Alec Crowder and Keeran Parker both scored for Astley.
Hindley Juniors created a four-point gap between them and their opponents after a 3-2 win against AFC Burnley. Hindley are now just three points off the promotion places as they sit in tenth while Burnley stay in eleventh.
