Wednesday Night Review

By Simon Harrison

There was just two games in the Manchester Football League on Wednesday night with teams in action in the Premier Division and Division Two.

Premier Division
Old Alts bounced back from their heavy defeat to Springhead at the weekend with three points on Wednesday night against Stockport Georgians.

Alts romped to a 4-1 victory at Crossford Bridge despite going a goal down, moving up to fourth place. Mike Taylor had given the visitors the lead with a great free kick but a Patrick Ettore brace and goals from Kerrim Calliste and Dave Drinkwater sealed the win for the hosts.

Division Two
Hindsford Reserves picked up their second win of the season as they narrowly saw off Hollinwood in a seven-goal thriller at Squires Lane.

Aaron Booth, Rivan Fisher, Adam McBride and Ryan Pownall were all on target for the hosts as they lift themselves up to sixth following a 4-3 win, moving above their opponents as a result.
