League President John Hyde has a final word before the opening weekend of the season on Saturday.

Hi Everyone,

So......we finally kick off on Saturday on what is going to be a very strange season.

We had a clubs meeting via Zoom last night at which most things were covered with regard to COVID-19.

Questions were asked about dressing rooms, club houses, social distancing etc, but all I can say is that the guidelines issued by the FA and County FA's should be followed. Some local authorities have issued their own risk assessments which are at odds with the FA advice.

In these circumstances the League HAS to follow the FA and, if asked
we will say that we have instructed ALL CLUBS to follow this advice, and this will be the League's stance should anything (pray God it doesn't!) untoward happen.

We will do our best to keep fixtures moving but things change from day to day so please bear with us if your game is cancelled at short notice, particularly where there are local lockdown restrictions. Where you have concerns WE WILL NOT FORCE YOU TO PLAY.

Some of you know that I do a fair bit of cycling and I can tell you that one of the cycling cafes I go to in Croston was visited by the Police on Sunday, and Phil Platt is aware of an FA Cup tie that was abandoned due to Police intervention, so be warned please.

Finally let me wish you all well for the forthcoming season, take care and stay safe.
