Reserves Kick Off Their Season

By Simon Harrison

It’s been a long time coming for their league campaign to commence but the teams in Division Three, Four and Five finally get their season underway this weekend.

This Saturday sees the start of the 2017/18 Manchester Football League season for the reserve teams who have had to wait a further two weeks to have their first taste of league action.

The Manchester Football League would like to thank all involved at the clubs for their patience with the delayed start which was due to the increased number of teams, meaning an extra division being created.

Fixture Preview

Division Three
Champions, Stockport Georgians, get their title defence underway on Saturday when they head to Fearns Community College to face Walshaw Sports. The holders were scheduled to play last Saturday but their game at Wilmslow Albion fell foul of the weather.

Last season’s runners up, Hindsford, hope to go one better this campaign as they make the trip to Avro who play at their new home of the Vestacare Stadium.

Dukinfield Town host Manchester Gregorians at Woodhams Park whilst Wilmslow Albion have their second attempt of getting their season underway as they travel to Rochdale Sacred Heart’s Fox Park.
